From the 1920's to the 1980's, Gauthier was the number 1 French manufacturer of tennis rackets, producing exclusively in France in Colombes and then in Carentan.
Our first racket patent was filed in 1928 by the Gauthier brothers in Paris.
French tennis was shining worldwide at the time thanks to the victories of the Four Musketeers in the Davis Cup.
The golden age of tennis in the 1970's allowed the family business to take off again by recruiting the French tennis player François Jauffret.
In 1928, we filed our first patent of tennis rackets with the idea of "perfecting" the rackets at that time.
Perfecting, a keyword at Gauthier that drove the research of excellence in our rackets till the end of the 1980's.
To perpetuate this heritage, we are coming back with our first ready-to-wear men's tennis collection and the same will of excellence.
To offer you what is best, we buy our fabrics from the same suppliers and produce in the same factories as the French and English luxury clothing houses producing in Portugal.
